3D Christmas Trees

3D Card Christmas Trees

You will need:

  • Some dark green card
  • Some stickers, sparkly beads, glitter, pens/crayons, cotton wool for snow - anything you like to decorate your tree with.

Older children could do all of this - for younger ones who can't use scissors they will love to do the decorating after you've done the cutting.

1) Make a christmas tree template: fold a piece of paper in half, draw half a christmas tree on it (with no trunk - it should be flat at the bottom so it will stand up), cut it out and then open it up.

2) Use your template to cut out two identical Christmas tree shapes from the green card.

3) On one of your trees draw a vertical line from the top point of the tree to the half way point and cut along it. On the other tree draw a vertical line from the bottom of the tree to the midway point and cut along it.

4) Then slot the two trees together to make a kind of X and stand it up.

5) Then you can go mad with the decorations - stickers, glitter, stars, whatever you like. If you decorate one side of the tree you can write a message on the other side and send it as a Christmas card.

For a real life example of how they can look visit the Christmas party to see the ones the Beyond Bruises kids made last week for decorations!
