New Car Seat Regulations in Switzerland

As of 1 April 2010, children under 12 years of age who are less than 150cm tall must sit in a childs car seat. (The requirement used to be 7 years of age).

The BCT maintains two interactive Google maps showing resources for people living in the Basel area:

• The having a baby in Basel map shows all the resources you might need before and after you have a baby here. You’ll find links to hospitals and birth houses as well as baby supplies shops as well as our regular BCT playgroup locations. 

• The early years education map shows the location on the main English and bilingual schools and preschools in the area.
